Default Urban Kayaking: Atlantic City NJ

Just Part 1 of a multi-part series of my home waters. A small snippet from an 8.6 mile paddle I did on tuesday. There will be more!

For those that may be wondering what this has to do with the WBF.. My Kayak is a Skin on Frame design by Dave Gentry, the Chuckanut 12s that I built over the winter.

Wicked fun. I loved doing that. I find it hard to sit in a kayak for that long now though. It always strikes me as odd that there is basically total wilderness (for lack of a better term) virtually everywhere once you get on the water.

Good one, Art! I'd love to see more, especially out in the salt marsh behind the city.
I'm usually good for 2 hours in a kayak before I have to stand up for a few minutes, but I love that sort of paddling!

At one stage I lived on a river that ran past my work place just a few K's away. I was training for marathon paddles and a few days a week I paddled a TK1 to work and back.
My marathon craft were a K1 and a K2 with a partner of course.

New Jersey has all manner of interesting corners to investigate by kayak. Keep it coming!
