    You tell 'em.

But the problem is, such resistance has taken on a religious quality. While there are stories of conversions when they themselves get infected... or they lose a loved on to the virus... there are also some stories of people the ICU claiming it's a hoax. Seriously??

Are you suggesting it took a bout with COVID to finally make him ok?

Damn, that's nasty - here's to a full and speedy recovery, without long covid.
Out of curiosity, was that in spite of being vaccinated?

Yeah; were you? Was this a 'break through' infection?

I still encounter folks - every day - ranging from 'It's a (insert fav conspiracy theory here) hoax' to 'I want to see what the long-term effects of vax is'.

    'What don't kill ya', eh?

When I inquired if one of my Q Anon, conspiracy groomers had or is planning on getting vaccinated because clients are now asking if our staff has been vaccinated, she sent me this

I just said OK then anyone that asks for a vaccinated groomer you wont be the one going. Her response is you would be surprised at how many people out there are like me so it wont matter.

I simply said thats a scary thought

I was just on the verge of skipping the mask. Lots of my suppliers no longer required it. Even went naked faced into the world a couple of times. Then the new surge began. I'm wearing it again always.

Glad to hear you are improving.

I mentioned last week that my uncle had felt weak and had fallen and cut his head and hurt his shoulder and hip. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance where he was diagnosed with COVID even though he was vaccinated months ago. Later was diagnosed with pneumonia also. He got 8 staples in his head, was put on antibiotics and antivirals and oxygen. Scans of his head, shoulder and hip were clear, just bruised. He got back home yesterday. He is 4 years older than me.

The fact that you both got it after vaccination is statistically worrying... but the fact that you both survived and are home is very good.

Glad to hear you're getting better.

Your story made me look up the vaccines' resistance-to-variants on a number of sites. This one is from the Mayo Clinic. Do COVID-19 vaccines protect against the variants? - Mayo Clinic

Still pretty reassuring, but I'm not planning to stop wearing a mask in stores these days, and disinfecting my hands when I come out.

Nicholas, my wife and I received the Moderna vaccine in February (first dose) and March (second dose) . The wife has pre-existing respiratory issues - - may I ask which vaccine you and your lady received ?

    Joe,

have you considered the opportunity you have to contribute to the greater good by requiring employee vaccinations? Or thought about how, from the outside, allowing unvaccinated employees to work with clients sends a "I don't care" message? And normalizes anti-vax attitudes? And endangers the very people who make it possible for you to make a good living from your business? (And endangers everyone else, too).

I'm no business leader or employer, but if I were, I would think very carefully about my obligations. I have very little patience with the unvaccinated, or with their enablers. And employers that don't require vaccinations seem like enablers to me. Something to think about--I hope you do. You have power to rein in some dangerous behaviors and stupidity as an employer.

Its a bit disturbing to learn of a fully vaccinated man enduring a stay in hospital. On the other hand, without the vaccine, who knows what might have come to pass?Glad to see you posting again Nicholas.

After consulting with a California employment attorney, my CPA and other business owners you can not enforce vaccinations on 1099 independent contractors.

I will hire a vaccinated groomer and fire her ASAP
