I'll start this off. The rule is that the first person to correctly answer the question must be the next to post a question. And so on.

Q: What Motown star tried out for the Detroit Lions NFL team as a wide receiver in 1970?

I'll give one hint: this Motown artist tried out for the Detroit Lions NFL team in the midst of his recording career. He was already a huge Motown star.

    Bingo!

You are both correct but Canoeyawl must post the next trivia question.

We are talking about Marvin Gaye, folks.

My turn. A famous American sports figure who, when asked about his experience on D-Day replied, “It was loud!”

My Dad was not a famous sports figure but he would have agreed. Dad was on Omaha beach triaging wounded and told me his main memory of the day was an explosion on the beach about every three or four seconds.

I have Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On" on the thumb drive in my car. The sad thing is that it's just as relevant today as it was back then.

I know I am late, but my guess would have been Stevie Wonder. Knowing how bad the Lions were back then (one of their players (a receiver) died on the field in a game against Chicago) he might have had a chance.

Sheesh, I had forgotten all about Lazlo, but it brought to mind another dearly departed writer

"'Does Barbie come with Ken?' he asked the perky saleswoman. 'Actually no,' she answered slyly. 'Barbie comes with G.I. Joe*—*she fakes it with Ken.'"
