I noticed some movement, and sagging when the yard boat lift took this older 34ft sloop out the water. There is definitely soft wood somewhere. im guessing the ply sheeting below the waterline is soft as a result of water damage. Need to figure out whats soft and whats not, but realistically, I probably need to rip it all off or at least sheet by sheet along the hull between the chines, and the chine and the keel.
how would you test to find softness and how would you support everything so nothing moves once sheets removed? I guessing I should just rip it all off below the waterline, replace it and sheath to good new surfaces up to the sheer. probably faster than messing with sectioning in sheets here and there.
Anyone done a project like this?
