Looks like the outboard notch in the transom is off just a tad.![]()
Thanks, I'll notify Jim Michalak of the error.
Very nice.
Is there a bow door to keep water out if you hit a large power boat wake?
I was born on a wooden boat that I built myself.
Skiing is the next best thing to having wings.
She looks real nice!
I gather you'll be using her on the Mississippi?
I've recently finished Jim's Jewel Box Jr. design, and have her sitting out in the yard while I build a trailer.
Have you figured out a way to cover the slot top? If not, take a look at my Jewelbox thread for some ideas.

Thanks Rich. The plans don't call for a bow door. Some of the other builders have designed their own, and I probably will too. The bow rides high enough so power boat wakes aren't really a threat, and there is ample drainage from the front compartment if water gets in there. Nonetheless, I will install a bow door just incase.
Thanks Etdbob. There are several large reservoirs within 30 minutes of here. I probably won't sail on the Mississippi, unless I'm planning a trip to New Orleans. I hope to sail in the Florida 120 in the Pensacola area, maybe next Spring. I have some ideas on a cover for the top. I'll take a look at your thread.

Love seeing more Michalak boats! These cruisers are such nice sailors and just comfortable to live with.

Nice to see one of these built, well, nicely! So many of the Michalak and Bolger builds seem to take the "quick, cheap, easy" build theme beyond the pale.

Nice. I guess where you are, you'll be able to sail pretty much through the winter?
-Dave
Thanks Woxbox. May get a few days in before Winter sets in. It gets pretty cold in Jan and Feb. Don't have the sail yet, it's ordered.
