I wasn´t very happy with the locks at the locker boxes in my Sooty Tern.
Made of belts with quick relase buckles it was impossible to get them tight enough to be water proof.
After a while came out with this new idea.
It works very well and fits into that narrow slot between the boxes and the centerboard case.
Laminated with carbon fibre and cut out with a jig saw.
The rubber seal gets nicely compressed when closed. These boxes will be now 100% waterproof.
Open mode to get some air inside when I´m not using the boat. You can see the filled holes from the former fastening of the belt.
Now the belt is fastened to the lid and small stuff, sea charts or clothes will be held in place when I open the lid.
Cheers
