bummer
Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.
All part of a Chinese hoax.
Now he's gone. If only he'd be forgotten.
500 feet thick? O my!
Terry, we're not on schedule, we're ahead of schedule. WAY ahead of schedule.
If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.

People believe the alternative 'facts' when they are more convenient.
I've been asking for many years, decades, "If Global Warming is a total hoax, but we get more efficient cars, better insulated homes, etc., what's the downside. If it's a serious problem, but we ignore it, what's the upside?"
Now I wonder what it will take for people to realize maybe Gore was on to something.
Now he's gone. If only he'd be forgotten.
Capture it, tow it to somewhere that needs electrical power and fresh water.
Cover it in thermocouples.
Free power and a steady supply of drinking water.
I'd much rather lay in my bunk all freakin day lookin at Youtube videos .
New real estate for the Trumpers.![]()
In a world full of wonders, man invented boredom.
Tow the berg into warmer open water, blow it up into a few smaller bergs, set up a few cameras, run a now obsolete passenger liner with a few hundred unemployed actors on board into it and make a movie of it sinking and their attempts at survival. Set it all up so preferably no one actually dies for real. PS: no romance theme or sub plot!
Aliens ok.... with some passengers mysteriously saved buy a sub oceanic mystery craft.......
They all end up dying anyway because the planet has warmed up too much and a super storm gets them on the way home from the rescue and only the aliens are left with a few mutterings of "we tried to tell them that the were stuffing the planet up". ....and the aliens were not really alien as they were the evolutionary missing link.... a pre existing oceanic humanoid species.

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. Leonardo da Vinci.
If war is the answer........... it must be a profoundly stupid question.

What I read is that this has been happening continually since forever, that the thing will most likely settle aground right where it is, and the leading edge will continue to drop off in smaller shards of 'normal' sized bergs.

More article here:A Major Ocean Current Could Be on The Verge of a Devastating 'Tipping Point'
25 FEBRUARY 2021, David Nield
The Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) sea currents are vital in transporting heat from the tropics to the Northern Hemisphere, but new research suggests climate change might knock the AMOC out of action much sooner than we anticipated.
That could have profound, large-scale impacts on the planet in terms of weather patterns, upending agricultural practices, biodiversity, and economic stability across the vast areas of the world that the AMOC influences.
The problem is the rate at which Earth is warming up and melting the ice in the Arctic: according to the researchers' new models, this speed of temperature increase means the risk of hitting the tipping point for the AMOC going dormant is now an urgent concern.

Duh!
Major understatement I think...
