This photo was taken by a local guy, Simon Paul d'Entremont, from The Lookoff at Cape Blomodon, in the Annapolis Valley in central Nova Scotia.

"Looking at the Annapolis Valley floor on a foggy night, as seen from the Lookoff at the top of the North Mountain in Blomidon, Nova Scotia. In particular I like how the lights show off and highlight the rolling hills and treetops on the valley floor, 600 feet below. Done by taking a one-minute exposure on a tripod at night, with low-lying fog conditions."

I've been to the lookoff many time but I have never seen it look like this. Beautiful pic!

The "Ghost Tracks" of Cape May. They are from WW1 when the government laid tracks on the beach to help sand mining and munitions hauling. Every so often after a big storm, they reappear.

Up at the Nisqually Glacier on Mount Rainer. This is mid-late July.



This is Lake Diablo up at the west end of the North Cascades Highway. Lake's that weird translucent green due to the rock flour in it from the glaciers.

Wasn't the movie "Local Hero" filmed near you? I've driven by on the highway, en route to Inverness, after visiting the Aberlour distillery.

I'm also pretty seriously looking at buying a small place around Rosneath or Dunoon...possibly Oban, though there's a cottage on the Kintyre Peninsula that strongly appeals.
