Well deserved, and well earned. That numpty is the best kind of egg.

True confession? I sincerely have a hard time taking the Doodles seriously.
I mean, they started as jokes, as me making fun of my own self and the dumb drawings I typically did/do.
Then, my kids started saving them.
Then, I started doing them on purpose to fill space here, because I never really had any conversational contributions to make the the joint, and I take terrible pictures.

But, at a certain point, people started to really like them, and compliment them, and actually want them. It truly boggles, because, as I said, they’re kind of jokes, to me.
Which… I can draw anything, really. I can look at something, and draw an all most exact copy on paper or pad. And, when I do, people generally think they’re “nice”.

Then I scribble a bunch of nonsense and some people NEED it. Hahahaha.

If I ever figure out life, I will write a book. I will call it, How To Life.

I am genuinely overwhelmed by the amount of support and encouragement I have received from this place; from you lovely folks. I’d never even know I could really Doodle if not for The Bilge…

Symbolic representation of the brutal early 20thC battle in Avant Garde Art between the Cubists and their mortal enemies the Sphereists? Who might have won, had the Cubists not united with new-world meso-American (and apparently opera-loving Australian) forces with anti-aircraft capabilities (and fearsome giant attack chickadees)?

What, you never heard of the Sphereists? (Art) History is written by the victors.

    Yeah.

Also, I’ve been watching anime with the kids.

ETA: which, Star Wars Visions is startlingly good.

I think you should do ancient-form wood-fired pottery, and scratch your doodles in decorative bands around the amphora and urns.

I have been considering pyrographic Doodles and 3-D Doodles for some time. I carved some rudimentary Doodle bits the other day from scraps… from these!

The Boy is preparing for his first recorded planned stunt; a bunny bunny bunny bunny hop. That is, he will bunny hop these two wooden bunnies while wearing a bunny costume.

It’s for a themed event, and he is throwing his hat in the ring. Quad will film it, and I am going to stand off to one side and not cry.

That red and blue strip across the bottom is IT! Would make a really beautiful stained glass window.
Any chance of scaling up to a full size artwork?

Good luck with the not crying thing. I find it's touch and go.

I really do think that nice earthenware vessels, pick the culture you'd prefer to bastardize, could have doodles in bands around the circumference.

You think the neolithic Beaker people wouldn't have appreciated doodles?

or the people who left Groovedware around Stonehenge?

A: I actually have a cousin who does stained glass work, and we’ve spoken before about making stained glass Doodles.

B: All the digital stuff I can have printed at a local shop. They do high quality work on high quality paper, and they hold my hand through the digital nonsense I don’t understand.

Once you make 10 thousand of them you will have it!

I DO think earthen Doodles would be slick.

I may have to investigate the art further…

Oh, I meant playing it. All I can do, so far, is most of the scale without squeaking, or make a godawful sound that makes the dog’s heads explode.

Coincidentally, I just harvested a nice limb that I hunk may make the PERFECT salad tongs, with just the right amount of curve to the wrist area.

While making some paper things for a Halloween based job, I got bored and started making this tiny paper boat.

    Guess what type?

Nah. It’ll be “strip” planked with cardstock. Deck and house and coamings from same.

Not lapstrake cardboard? Thought I grant that it's hard to steam cardstock, so you'd need to hope there's not much twist in the hood end garboard.

I hear that in projects like these, hot glue works even better than 5200 as caulking.

Lapstrake is pretty simple with paper. But, I want a smooth hull.
