Who Replaces 4" X 8" tire ?? I have nice galvanized boat trailer wheels size 4" X 8". I would like to replace a tire but typical tires stores will not. Harbor Freight sells painted wheels & tires for about $40 but I want to use my GALVANIZED wheels.

If you would have a good boat, be a good guy when you build her - honest, careful, patient, strong.

i would try the local small engine repair shop or maybe your local weird guy that lives under the powerlines and sells used lawnmowers
Strange, here in the UK the local tyre place will change them... But I have changed them myself, it's not difficult... You can get a set of suitable tyre levers off of amazon for $20
Just an amateur bodging away..
Buy from the trailer maker.

There are two kinds of boaters: those who have run aground, and those who lie about it.
I'd check with your local shop that repairs garden tractors. My Cub Cadet dealer has the tools, for one.

Make sure you check the speed and load rating before letting a lawnmower repair outfit put a set of tires on your trailer. As fancy as those riding mowers may be they are not rolling down the highway at 60 mph.

Don't some scooters have 8 inch wheels? There could be a scooter shop that would do the job.
Motorcycle/scooter tires are not interchangeable with trailer tires.

So you can get the tires online quite easily. I think all that's needed is a shop that has the tool to change such a small tire. This is what I had in mind suggesting the garden equipment shop -- show up with the wheels and tires and ask them to put the new ones on. And you could do the same at a scooter dealer, of course.

What do you want.A tire replaced with another, or the means to replace it?
Try Princess Auto. They have tires and the tools to do it. I expect they will ship. US dollar buys about 1.30 CDN right now.

I tried this a year ago. The lawn mower guy said he could do it, but he said that after I buy a separate tire and have him remove and mount the new one, I could buy a mounted tire on a galvanized wheel for the same money. Which I did. I now have several spares.

As Nick said, it is not that difficult with just a couple of tire irons (motorcycle places should still carry them).
I changed tires many times on my 'ol Bmer. Had a pair of Hazet irons then acquired a 3rd one. Job became a lot easier.

Having a third iron sure does make it a lot easier!
Upgrading to 12" wheels would definitely be a good idea. I've upgraded TWO trailers, 12" for a boat, and 13" for a utility.
I went through this with a trailer I just refurbished and ended up buying new tires mounted on new wheels, so much cheaper and easier than putting new tires on the old rims, though I get the galvanized advantage. Capitalism at work. On the other hand, I also have a tire shop near me that was happy to mount 8" tires but the tires alone were almost as much as the wheel plus tire combo
