Wow. My brothere worked for Graeme when he had his shop in Pomfret (or near Pomfret anyway).

This is an online auction - so Graeme should see higher prices that just onsite. Don;t be surprised by currently low bids - they will get closer to reality a day or so before the close. The Thames skiff is @ 1500 right now - reserve not met.

To anyone thinking of bidding - note that the auction adds 18% to the sale price! Yes, I've complained to Tom Hirchak - but its 15% "internet fee" - which is basically what proxibid charges the auctioneer & 3% for CC charges - as for onsite auctions they take checks - but charge 3% for CC.

The auction is just about over. The Thames skiff above did not meet reserve (over 7500 IIRC). Most everything else went for decent money. Graeme's Cockatoo scull went for 9500 & his river boat for 2700. The old singles & one pair went for 200-800. All needed work.

Tools went pretty high - but good for Graeme!

I got a nice pair of Shaw & Tenney oars for a very good price - so I'm happy. Gotta figure out how to get 'em though - after I'd already bid I realized that the pickup time (Mon. 10-2) conflicts with a doctor's appt. Just might have to skip the doc...

I forget how young you are... I spent a lot of time at Windham College (can you say drugs?) in the early 70's.

It is indeed a pretty area - though getting overrun by out-of-state home purchases - especially with Covid.

Hey Garret - I was at Windham in '74 & '75 (I think). I was there when the school ran out of money and shut down half way through what was supposed to be my graduation semester.

Always enjoyed Putney and the surrounding area.

Ha! I spent time there in 72-3. I was going to Skidmore, but one of my best friends went to Windham - so I'd drive over often. I'll never forget playing tireball in the dorm: set up a fire extinguisher at one end of the hall & roll a tire 50' or so to try & knock over the extinguisher. It was noisy. There were also a lot of pretty crazy parties.

I helped convert a cow barn to a party barn in Westminster West. Really pretty spot there.

Do you by chance have a brother named John?
