These fire evacs are, at the very least, hard on the nerves.

Good luck to you and Renee.

You would not be the first evacuees to live in our driveway this year. It is currently vacant. We can have the trailer back in a few hours... itís a pullout with a full sized kitchen, bath, and separate BR.

Drive the van up and Renee can groom the new pup. As long as you need...

The temps don’t look high but it is dry. Here’s a video of wind in Chino. This is why I get royally pissed off at ignorant people who talk about forest management when a fire starts in chaparral and grass and is turbocharged by hot high winds you can have a suburban development go up in flames, no forests involved.

There’s a big fire in Colorado, and in another area is a snowstorm. They don’t overlap. Life ain’t fair.

Damn, that’s a nice offer. I’d take that in a minute.

Joe if you have to make a run for it you are not to stop for selfies! Good luck. Nothing makes you feel as helpless as watching the approach of a bad fire. JayInOz

Each of you drive one of those vans, and get out of there before it gets difficult to leave quickly.

Beat me to it, my thoughts exactly. To save the vans and preserve your business, and can act as emergency shelter, and can hold valuables, including your bikes and Vespas.

I don't know if you are renting or have a condo, but sometimes there's an advantage to renting.
When you can take the pebble from my hand, it will be time for you to leave.

Made our news. Be sensible about this Joe and Rene, and don't wait till the last minute if you have to go, too many others will.
    Good luck.

Good luck, Joe. I feel your pain. Our home has been under imminent threat of fire from early September to a few days ago, when it finally rained hard. We saved a few other human homes from burning, as wildlife homes went up in smoke all around.

Can you persuade staff to evacuate with the remaining vans if you have to evacuate? There is plenty of room in them to take stuff, they might be interested and it just might mean more vans would make it.

We are under a voluntary evacuation - Car is packed ready to go. Helicopters are making water pickups at the reservoir behind us. Interestedly I can't fly my drone because the controle software is locked, which is probably a good thing.

Our place is just on the other side of the evacuation zone on Los Alisos

I wish the folks I’ve talked to about wildfires looked at that aerial view. All those developments are fuel, when hot dry winds come barreling down through hills and grass fields it’s a blow torch once ignited. Sure there’s some forest here and there but the fact is it rains in the winter and doesn’t after that. Grass grows and dries up. If people didn’t live there it wouldn’t be a problem and if people didn’t live in Florida sea rise wouldn’t be a problem.

But they do. And climate change is making it worse. So follow the science not some game show celebrity has-been who won the jackpot to the White House.

It's ok to leave and find that you'd done that "abundance of caution " thing. Doesn't make you cowards.

The best pandemic is the kind where people did the public health prevention stuff, and nobody died.

Youngest daughter's MIL who lives in Riverside was complaining that Gov Newsome "hadn't done anything to counter the fire danger". She is a Trumper who doesn't believe in "global warming". I guess the Gov was supposed to make it rain, or at least rake the "forest floors" clean. I suggested in her FB that she organize The Riverside Rake Regiment and pray for rain. I think she banned me from her FB page.
