Good on you! I was hoping one of the 'proper' Scots would start a thread. I was tempted, but I'm not Scottish, and I've posted a lot on Scotland in recent years and I feel like I've run out of ammunition. But I'll do my best to contribute

    Starting with a pre-wedding 'Blacking'..

Well they do say that the best thing ever to come out of England is the road to Scotland (or Wales)

I'm still looking for themes that are not spectacular landscapes, castles, ancient stone bridges over picturesque rivers, whisky, pipers, the Kelpies, folk bands or the Falkirk Wheel

How about this from the Highland Wildlife Park near Kingussie - Not something you see in Scotland very often..

There aren't just polar bears in Scotland, there are reindeer, too.

Google the Cairngorm Reindeer Herd. I have never seen them, but I have read a book about the story of this herd. You could get the impression that Scotland has got a fairly arctic climate.

^ I have seen both halves of the reindeer herd a few times. My wife and I used to camp at Aviemore a lot when we first moved here in the 80s, and we saw reindeer there a few times. In the 1990s the herd was split for easier management, so some of them are now in the Cromdale hills near Glenlivet. We have a friend who is a gamekeeper on a Glenlivet estate and he has taken us to see the reindeer there.

Also, every Christmas, a few reindeer are brought down from Cairngorm and appear with Santa in our local towns and villages. This one is from Aberdeen..

OK got it. It responds very slowly on my PC, I tried for a while and couldn't see it, then it suddenly popped up. Maybe a Firefox and Linux thing?

A bit of wildlife in my garden...
Taken a year or two ago, but there were seven of them back on Monday night.
