    Default This is our "deck"

All untreated Redwood, 25-30 years old now.
50 feet long it is cantilevered out into a large old avocado tree, about 20 feet off the ground
Sort of a treehouse/garden, a favorite spot, the other end is in full sun.

(That little table with the galvanized Queen Anne legs was the base for a 1920's GE stove, now cut down and repurposed.
When I go to the galvanizers I always throw in some welded garden furniture or maybe an old anchor to help make the minimum charge)

    a little slice of paradise.

you just wander out on the deck in your jammies and pick an avocado to put on your toast?

    Very fine indeed.

if you trim the bush back some you can make your deck appear larger
Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.

Really nice, idyllic. very interesting about the redwood too. Avocado , insert envy here.
I've been poking bromiliads into stumps with mixed success, apart from that I know nussink about them.
