Nothing new. Trump has abandoned his superhypedup talk over everything approach... or at least dialed it back a good bit. But he can't help but lie like a firehose. It's all he's got. I watched a bit. I'm out.

Jo Biden calling Xi Jinping a thug was a bad move but not necessarily with respect to domestic politics.

I’m still laughing over the whole Lincoln comparison. He’s actually serious. Can we clone up a new Abe and get him be whip Trump’s a$$ with that ax handle?

Best worst Brian, compromise and best worst. It is almost always thus.
You just have to make up your mind how much compromise your principles can stand, and in what direction.

That said, two damaged old men are surely not the best that even a Disunited States can put up for the top job?

Did you know Jimmy Stewart made the US Military give him combat arms during WW2?

He was a film star before the war, and enlisted as a private in the US Army Air Corps, in March 1941, the first big Hollywood start to enlist. They had him down for making rah-rah movies and war bond campaigns. He had other ideas, what with being a licensed pilot and all.

He was posted to the UK as a 2nd lieutenant piloting a B-24 in the 445th Bombardment Group in November 1943 as a 2nd lieutenant. Promoted to Major January 7, 1944 after a mission over
    Ludwigshafen.

As deputy commander of the 2nd Air Wing, he received the DFC (Distinguished Flying Cross), the French Croix de Guerre (with a palm), and the Air Medal with 3 oak leaf clusters.

Made full colonel at the end of March, 1945. Not a bad job, private to bird colonel in 4 years.

He stayed in the reserves after the war, was promoted to brigadier general in July 1959. Flew an Arc Light mission in a B-52 over Vietnam in February 1966. Retired Memorial Day 1968 after 27 years of service when he hit the mandatory retirement age of 60.

Got a US Air Force Distinguished Service Medal instead of a gold watch.

He did not suffer from bone spurs.

From pretty well anywhere outside the States, apart from Australia, the idea that the USA is subsiding oil and gas is just bizarre.

We have mostly accepted the idea that “going green” is good for jobs.

    Trump is such a dinosaur.

If you factor in the amount of money, munitions and military resources expended on the Middle East in protecting the oil supply...

    It's even more astounding.
