Not huge tasks, but the basics, and it integrates into existing workflow. It’s what happens when they stop updating the firmware /android version on the camera and you’ve an unsecure brick that’d suck.

    same here

its okay, i'm mean it's good compared to pocket cameras ten years ago
it's exceptional compared to phone cameras five years ago
other than it's overwhelming convenience factor, i'd rather use almost any other camera than my iphone

Then you’re just not a good photographer Photography is NOT about equipment. It’s about framing, composition & story my iPhone takes just as good photos as Henri Carter-Bresson took in 1954 - ( Damn it if I cant find the photo of the bow walking Ella I shot ) Anyway you get the idea

Cartier Bresson chose a 35mm Leica because it was smaller and less obtrusive than medium format. Answlm Adams shot (mostly) with a big camera.

and then he used it for his entire career because he had blown his camera budget up and couldn't afford anything else from then on

I just bought a Z7 with an actual lens. I have been completely frustrated with a 15 mp flat feild phone camera. Yes, I know iPhone does psuedo FOV, stop your internal dialogue, and while I agree with you that one can make good photos with a phone, you will never convince me that they are as good as a proper camera. The discipline is to carry it everywhere, which differenciates fan boys from photographers.

Zeiss lenses were my first choice, very dissapointed they did not choose to support Nikon or Canon but instead Sony. Ugh.

zeiss makes canon and nikon mount lenses

of course nikon nor canon had/have any reason to cosy up to zeiss they make their own glass as good as anybody

sony did, they had run the minolta legacy as far as they could

    Damon Winter won POYi’s
Newspaper Photographer of the Year too.

When New York Times staff photographer Damon Winter won POYi’s feature competition for wartime photos he took on his iPhone using the Hipstamatic app, some people balked. Photojournalism, as practiced by the greats with real cameras, was officially dead. Others said that’s a naive viewpoint; there are no truly objective photographs — and the photographer’s tool doesn’t make or break a great image.
As for Winter’s take, he couldn’t submit to an interview with Poynter.org on Friday because he is in Afghanistan, but he did release a statement to the media site.In part, it says:I could not have taken these photos using my SLR and that perhaps is the most important point regarding my use of the camera phone for this story. Using the phone is discreet and casual and unintimidating. The soldiers often take pictures of each other with their phones and that was the hope of this essay: to have a set of photos that could almost look like the snapshots that the men take of each other but with a professional eye.People may have the impression that it is too easy to make interesting images with a camera app like this, but that is not the case — just as it is not the case that good pictures automatically come out of exotic places. At the heart of every solid image are the same fundamentals: composition, information, moment, emotion, connection. If people think that this is a magic tool that makes every image great, they are wrong.

twodot I totally respect your’s and mmd and a few others opinion when it comes to photography. BTW I love your work. So, I'm in no way saying that I'm HCB but I happen to think the two images are closer than timeless & nice. I would like to hear your unblemished critique as to the difference.

I chose the two photos because I think they are closer to the intended composition and framing than timeless & nice.

Again mine was taken with a 2015 iPhone.

I appreciate your input and of course I'm no where in the league of HCB. I love that HCB wine photo and see the story and it is superior.

Regarding the depth of field my photo was pre iPhone X ProMax with portrait mode.
