Default Which side would you eliminate the main deck walkway (side deck) from?

In exploring a M/Y design, eliminating the main deck, saloon level walkway (side deck) has been suggested to bring the edge of the saloon the edge of the hull on one side. This would mean that fore/aft movement would only be possible on the other side at the main deck level, but the level above (saloon roof) would permit walking from fore to aft at the edge of the hull on that side for deploying buoys and so forth. The boat is a monohull 70ft+ and will dock stern to presumably. or dock on the side that has the walkway.

Which side would you choose and why?

A 70-foot hull should be plenty big enough to have side decks both sides. Then again if the cabin sides are not very high, go full width for symmetry.
It really is quite difficult to build an ugly wooden boat.

in a single screw vessel, I would have the deck on the side to which the stern will walk in reverse

Put the deck on the windward side.

I'd retain the sidedeck on the same side of the boat as the helm, so that I could have quick and direct access from helm to side deck.

There are two kinds of boaters: those who have run aground, and those who lie about it.

Some great answers! thx guys. This is probably the time to mention vectored thrusters at each end of the boat for manouvering with wireless remote control so operator (thats the captain to you) can be anywhere on the boat while piloting. Oh and length just grew to ~35m. Yes there is space for a sidedeck, but this concept is about an unobstructed view from one side at least, a motor sofa perhaps. Perhaps I should have begun with a thread about where is the best place on the boat for a guest to sit....
