    Default Has anyone used phosphoric acid to kill the effects of old steel screws?

    I've heard of this but I'm a little leary of putting acid on my hull. Even if it turns the iron oxide into iron phosphate, how do you titrate it? Will the phosphoric acid damage the planks? She has 2X2 steam-bent, oak frames and cedar planking.
