Saw a flock of wild ones crossing the road this morn.

I was not a turkey hunter, but was amused decades ago when seeing a flock of them crossing the road near my dad's place in northern lower MI. Until then I hadn't realized they were native there, somehow I thought only states further south. But then thinking about it, it made sense.

Turkeys can fly but not far.
I've seen them run, take off and fly/glide about 100 yards over my meadow into the woods.
They also fly up into the trees to roost at night.
