    Default Good looking aluminum workboat

At the same yard as the Hourston speedboat I posted about earlier was a really nicely designed and built aluminum workboat in the West Coast style. The window installation is much nicer than the usual rubber mount type. The boat would make an awesome little cruiser for two...

Well, since there are 'wine snobs' and 'art snobs', I guess that 'boat snobs' could be a thing, too.

    But are aluminum boats noisy?
I remember as a teenager paddling an aluminum canoe and it was noisy as hell.
That said, not a bad looking tin boat.
I was born on a wooden boat that I built myself.

None of the aluminum boats of that size that I have been on have been any noisier than similar boats of other materials. I think that your canoe was noisy because the lack of internal structure allowed it to resonate with any vibration it encountered.

I do not know about Hewescraft boats, but it looks pretty functional. Stylistically it is not my cup o' tea, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

That Hewescraft is typical of the most common sport-fishing boats in these waters. Names like AlumaCraft, AlumaWeld, etc. When salmon season opens... we call it the 'aluminum-bloom'.
