    Default Naval Gunnery

Range finding and fire control, mostly dealing with WW II era battleships. Long, but very interesting.

Likely the same methods I practiced in the USCG, though we didn't have 16" guns.
Odd as it seems, 1981 is farther from today than it was from WWII.

1949 - year I was born - only four beyond end of WW II.

1969 I drove a friend through the snow for a clinic visit where she learned she was expecting.

That boy grew up to be Fire Control Officer on USS Missouri before it was mothballed.

Four years ago today we were preparing for as yet another Presidential election, just like today.

Time flies, whether you’re having fun... or not!

That film brought back memories of Gunner's Mate School at Great Lakes, Illinois in 1968 - we covered in great detail those topics in the film. Thanks for posting.
