Built in NZ. I wonder if it is one of thoses triple planked jobbies.
The grass is greener on the otherside...comes to these boats.

I read through the entirety of the current owner's website. Fascinating story and heartwarming that he built a relationship with the original owners who raced the boat. Juneau is a small city so I'd imagine some of the other SE Alaskan members have crossed paths with Leda or her owners. It doesn't appear that the current owner was a member of WBF, but his rebuild progress was interesting to read and he used some off the wall techniques that I'm sure would be debated heavily in a building/repair thread.

The current owners would love to see the boat repatriated to NZ if anyone is looking to retrace Cook's third voyage, maybe skip that stop in Kealakekua bay though.

From the website for the boat:

    https://www.svleda.com/?page_id=388

Hull thickness: 1.5-inches (in two layers, 1/2″ diagonal, 1′ longitudinal)
so, double planked. And you have to like the owner's attitude. Also from the site:

We are asking a modest 45,000 USD. Feel free to insult us with any offers, some days it would be easier to buy this boat than others. If you don’t understand that, then I will assume you have never owned a boat!
Truth. Not my cuppa but she's pretty stunning.

The demands of beauty sometimes take precedence over the mundane requirements of flight.

    Excellent video

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.”― Mark Twain,
