Default I`ve finished my Weekender Sailboat

    Hello,
    this is Michael from Germany.
I like to take a look on this great Site from time to time. Great Buildings and Infos all arround.
Now I`ve thought that could be a good idea to give something back and I would like to publish my Project. In 2008 I`ve bought the plan fromwww.stevproj.com
I made several other small boats in the time between. Now since 4 weeks ago I had the maiden voyage.
It`s a nice little boat that sail very well in my opinion.
Ive wrote a building blog where I had try to descripe what I did.
I put all my english language knowledge in this building blog and I hope it`s understandable for everybody. Sorry for mistakes or wrong words.
But pictures says more than words. So if you are interrested please take a look to the site below.

Excellent! A salty looking vessel, indeed.
I was born on a wooden boat that I built myself.

    Hello again,
thank you very much for your comments. It`s good to see that I can give something to the forum that`s might be of interrest.
I think It`s night in your country?
There are so many small things to do because in 2 weeks we want to go to our first real small journey with sleeping in the cabin. I have cutted 2 Foammats in shape, installing small shelfs and for me the most importend thing is to get a boom tent, because the boat is small and you need the room in the cockpit.
So yesterday evening I`ve created a tent and I think this could work. I found and old iglu tent from my sons and a bag of fiberglas sticks in the cellar.(don`t throw everything away, keep it for later projects) A bunch of rubber loops to fix everything.
Today I will mount a electric trolling motor, I mean outboard engine with battery
    kind regards!

    Hello again,
now we had our first trip with weekender Mia. We had a few day with nice weather. What can I say, it`s small but gives you places for 2 Persons with gear. It neccessary to have a boomtent because you have to bring most of the luggage out in the cockpit for sleeping and in the morning back in the cabin for sitting and sailing. If you are in love with your Partner it gives you enough space.
For longer distances i think it`s better to have a small outboard engine. The battery for the electric trolling motor was low after aprox.4,5h with low speed. We charged the battery on a camping place over night. You can really go close to the beach somewhere with the draft of the boat.
It`s easy to handle with trailering, bring it to the water and sailing. You dont need big ships for small trips. It can be really easy.Put some luggage in your boat and leave the beach, be in the nature, relax and enjoy the time.

So I want to put some fotos from our trip here, hope you enjoy.
    Have nice summertime!
    Michael
