    Have you been watching the "Derry Girls" on Netflix? The Derry accent is tough.

    It's one of the very few show I enjoyed.

    I can cope with the accent but fail to understand why it seems to be shot in a very hazy manner.Some of the video specialists on the forum might know why it appears so.

    One other series that nobody has mentioned is Rebus-I preferred Ken Stott in the title role.

    Not a specialist, but there was a genre called Nordic Noir starting about 10 years or so ago, Wallender, Bordertown, The Bridge, The Killing.
    All in a sort of hazy cloudy North Sea look to them. Quite popular. Maybe the Vera producers wanted to tap into that.

    Or it is always a bit foggy on the Tyne.

    Just as it is usually raining in Scotland, or just about to.
    It really is quite difficult to build an ugly wooden boat.
