Larry Pardy Passes over the bar!

I just got word from Lin Pardy that her husband Larry has sailed off on his next voyage! Larry suffered from Parkinson's Disease and spent his last two years in a rest home where he passed over the bar peacefully. Larry was 83 years old and lived a life that was both kind and just. He was also one heck of a good boat builder and sailor!
Larry was a pal and a very good friend as is Linnie!

It's a sad day indeed, there's another thread in the bilge.

Funny thing, yesterday morning I was out in the garage staring at the rafters, looking for some house trim mouldings for the day. 'Oh there's Larry's teak live edge fltch, where could I use that in the new house' . That afternoon I saw Lin's Facebook post.

Sad for Lin. Losing a loved one that has dementia is a mixed bag - relieved that they suffer no more, but missing them and who they were. A bittersweet departure, with a sense of relief, sorrow and guilt.

RIP Larry. I hope you have fair winds and following seas

I remember them giving an engaging talk at the PT boat fest 2003? and going aboard their beautiful boat Taliesin. If I remember correctly it had a bathtub where the motor should have been.
