Default Requesting Ideas for a Skagit Bay Cruise

We are thinking about trailering our Scamp to Skagit Bay, Washington, for a week long cruise in July. Does anyone have information about cruising in Skagit Bay that they might like to share? Beautiful anchorages? Places we can charge the electric motor? Best place to put in? In general, how is the wind in July?
    Thanks in advance!

Skagit Bay is lovely- protected from the Straits by Whidbey Island and Shoreline not over developed. You can put in at Coronet Bay Marina, and have shore power, otherwise you can put in at Anacortes, charge up and stock up. There is a marina in La Conner as well, don’t know about a ramp or launch.
Winds typically light, tides are not as extreme as the Spring, but still in 8’ range. Kinetic Island is a Preserve, and there is Ben Urry Spit and Hope Island as well. Not a lot of boat traffic, plan a trip to Deception Pass and Bowman’s Bay just North of the Pass. And you can go around the point at the South end of the Bay to Oak Harbor.
The Tide book and Current predictor will be your friends, calculating which direction the Swinomish Channel will flow with Ebb and Flood is challenging.

Coupeville has a public dock that has a boardwalk to town for supplies. Not sure if they have power available for recharging. The park north of Deception Pass is lovely. Time your trip through the pass for right on slack water. There will be boats waiting on both sides for slack, so the water will be choppy when you all go at once but slack is a short window and you don't have time to wait for traffic to die down.

There are mooring balls at some of the islands in Skagit Bay but I can't remember which ones specifically. La Conner is the other town that will have power for you, but might require paying for a night in the marina.
