"Enola Holmes", it's a mystery involving Sherlock's younger sister. Very well done. Two thumbs up.

thanks - I've almost given up on netflix.
It's all fun and games until Darth Vader comes.
We just finished Young Wallendar. Excellent. And Norsemen is a hoot.
“Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of those rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs."
Kingdom was awesome
I'm a sucker for anything holmes-ish, so that's now on the list, thanks.
perhaps one needs to be within a particularly narrow window of age to appreciate it, but "Cobra Kai" is surprisingly well done.
whoa, camel. WHOA CAMEL!
cobra kai is awesome
Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.
It's Hulu not netflix but... Fargo is back for another season!

I saw it on Disney +, was pretty good

"Leave the gun, take the cannolis"
I finished it over the weekend. The ending was an unexpected twist.Young Wallander
I'm starting back in on DEADWIND, which I had started, but drifted away from. It's dark. Literally and figuratively.
I just saw it two nights ago and in the first minute I was like "Who. Is. She." Fabulous facial expressions and emotions. Immediately afterward, looked her up on IMDB. Fantastic pics from years of acting on Stranger Things, which I have not seen. Currently 16 I think? Super bright future ahead. But she is a minor, so I hope this is all fun for her and her parents are providing good guidance and watching out for her closely.
When you can take the pebble from my hand, it will be time for you to leave.
We just stumbled acrost it by accident last night.
Most excellent!
You would not enjoy Nietzsche, sir. He is fundamentally unsound. — P.G. Wodehouse (Carry On, Jeeves)
British child actors seem to do OK. Haley Mills, etc. And the Harry Potter gang seem to survive without all the tabloid histrionics of American child stars.

The Last Kingdom.
Watching a Russian sci-fi called Better Than Us. It's dubbed unfortunately but I'm enjoying it.
"Life is under no obligation to give us what we expect." Irrfan Khan. RIP
Thanks all.
Documentary called My Octopus Teacher. Seriously recommended.

"Unforgotten " on Amazon. A masterpiece theater production. Absolutely outstanding

"Leave the gun, take the cannolis"
"Midnight Diner" on Netflix is very worthwhile. Pure storytelling with no frills.

Agreed, Young Wallander was terrific. We then went on a Scandinavian tear and have watched all 31 episodes of "Borgen" smart, sexy political drama about a female Danish Prime Minister.
"Occupied" A 3 season Norwegian political drama/thriller centered around global warming and Russian occupation of Norway. And we are currently half way through"Rita" another Danish series, mostly a comedy about an outspoken and rebellious teacher who also happens to fill a pair of jeans quite nicely.
All three are worth watching in the native language with the subtitles to get a full sense of the nuance and emotion. In "Borgen" and "Occupied" the characters occasionally toggle over into English dialogue and quite honestly speak English with better clarity than many native speakers here in the states. Highly recommend all three.

Enola Holmes... ugh why was that a movie instead of an ongoing series? It should be an ongoing series.
I have this grievance with a lot of british productions, they're just too brief.
Sherlock.
Catastrophe.
Fleabag.
Killing Eve (I know it's on 3rd or 4th season now but each season is only like 6 episodes so that's roughly equal to a single season in normal USA TV)
whoa, camel. WHOA CAMEL!
I watched Ms. Holmes the other night. Not bad at all. Definitely worth watching, with a female main character, and several other strong female characters. A fun romp. I'll probably watch it again with my sweetie.

I'm going to make the assumption that Trailer Park Boys is to low brow for this crowd. LOL

^^^^^^ Not too low brow for me. Letterkenny would make you laugh.
We've been watching Wynonna Earp.
Campy and a bit weird, but still decent and unpredictable.

Sleep with one eye open.
I watched ‘Deadwind’, called ‘Skarppi’ in Finland. ‘The Rain’. ‘Norsemen’. ‘Enola Holmes’, yes. All the seasons of ‘the Last Kingdom’. Tons of stuff on Netflix.

Any suggestions for a lighthearted view tonight? Or Amazon Prime or Hulu something suitable to watch with mom?

I've never found a single movie I wanted to watch on Netflix. The other night a list of Netflix must see movies popped up while I was on Youtube. There was one sci-fi that looked really interesting so I decided to watch it- not available on Netflix- despite being recommended as a Netflix must see- but here's a whole bunch of other movies similar to what you actually wanted to watch- bunch of bottom orifices. Watching ‘outlaw king’ right now.
