You've successfully built a floating boat shaped object. Bravo!

    What are you building next?
There's the plan, then there's what actually happens.

Nice choice for a first build. One buddy did the same, and got tons of use out of his for fishing, crabbing, and general messing-about. Looks like you did a lovely job with it.

    Looks good Little Dog.
I'll bet it really moves out with that 20 horse on there.

There are two kinds of boaters: those who have run aground, and those who lie about it.

    Thanks.
My son called it the Legend of the Boat.
I started building it then had a major operation on my head.
recovered from that but it sat for a few years.
    But finally got it finished.
now im looking for a plan for a steering console.
thinking about building a stitch and glue kayak.

For that boat I would look at something like a Simmons sea skiff side console. Something like this.
Would not take up tons of space.

There is one working as a tender to a big power yacht at my marina. It does very well.

    Perfect!

Skip the console, rig up an extension tiller to get the skipper's weight forward, and a leaning post or rail. In calm water, it's a great boat to run standing up .

The 20HP will be perfect, with a light crew/cargo.
