Default Schooner launch. Welcome to Anna Margaretha !

Today Margit and Ricco launched their Schooner Anna Margaretha in Lochem, Holland.
Very moving event, resulting of a 12 years work, done asside his main profession of math teacher.
She is a sistership of Anthéa .
I've seen several of these design built by amateurs.
None of them can rivalise with Ricco's work of art.
The pics I took are speaking themselves.
The amount of energy and commitment to acheive such a masterpiece is unvaluable!

Congrats to you both Margit and Ricco.
Your world circumnavigation program follows the scale of the building.
    Fair winds !

Good looking hull. Long may her big jib draw...
Hope for the best, but plan for the worst.

The hull got a copper coat from Ricco's own formulation.

    Beautiful.

How are those decks not slippery in the rain?

    Wow. Just wow.
    Stunning workmanship!
Question: What is the thing bolted to the transom? Electric drive pod motor or a prop driven generator to charge the batteries? I'm thinking generator since the boat already has a aux motor.

Gorgeous! Ricco does fine work indeed. Inspired by Danial Bombigher’s incredible drawings, no doubt. Great that you could attend the launch.

The deck is kept barewood, so not slippery.
The folding propeller is a generator. Although not classic looking it will be very useful for long passages under electric autopilot.

That had to be a very nervous event, trusting all your hard labor to one crane operator. We've all seen the videos of cranes dropping boats.

Even the gangplank is a work of art.
Cold Moulded hull with plank lines routed in?
Hopefully we'll see pictures of her under sail.

stripplanked 1” , two diagonal layers of ocoume plywood and a 1/2” layer of mahogany. All epoxy glued. Under the waterline 2 layers of fiberglas and 2’ of aramide (kevlar) at the waterline. i am sure that it will be strong.

The gangplank follows the shape of the inside of the bulwark(?) so it will fit perfectly snug against it when not in use.

Ricco, thanks for the explanation about her scupper design on FB. She's a treat to the eyes for sure. Now that it's been mentioned, how about some pics of more detailed bits like the gangplank? We all look forward to seeing her rigged and under sail. I bet she'll sail just beautifully.

These boats are heavy on the theatre, light on practicality.
