I could start my own MC with a bike like this. A french chapter could be arranged.

Without friends none of this is possible.
My Wheels of Fortune MC Clubmen did not like my R80/7.

If you would have a good boat, be a good guy when you build her - honest, careful, patient, strong.

This is the most interesting (to me) bike BMW has put out for some time. The video definitely makes me want to get the old GS out on some local fire roads but with all the rain we've had I'm not sure my rusty skills are up to the muddy mess just yet.

Yes !
I'm very happy with it.
And I like the Guppy looking exhausts
My R18 is now my every day bike.
And the one for road trips.
I made some mods to adapt it to my needs, a Corbin saddle to accommodate comfortably my sweet heart and myself, a top case, a more protective front fender etc..
Here it is , with full long trip equipment:

Wouldn't 900 cc have been adequate though?
yeah but 900cc is kinda outrageous for a thumper
Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.
Lot of weight to move...
900cc on each side are adequate![]()
900cc have proven quite racy.

I was a beautiful day for a ride here today so we rode out to a little swap meet/bike show in Cornish, Maine.
I'm still fixing up the R65 sidecar rig so I rode the CB500x. Turnout was a little low because today was the day of the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, too.

While we're on the topic of BMWs . . .
This is an ex-German Polizei bike I saw at Backfire Moto a few years ago.

150cc. Street legal.
Saw this 500cc at the supermarket, still in regular use.

There is nothing quite as permanent as a good temporary repair.
If that bike is in Aotearoa chances are it belongs to Rod Dunshea.
Steal it if you're hard enough. Nice to see a vintage bike still in use, not all shined up and 'vintaged', just a daily ride.
I recall someone describing his ideal bike as as A rapide halfway to its next restoration
I'd much rather lay in my bunk all freakin day lookin at Youtube videos .
That helmet or similar was firmly attached to Rod’s noggin last time I saw him in Poncenby maybe a year or so ago however his Comet had saddle bags attached.
Not sure if Rod has a Rapide JB but he does have this Egli.

It'll be the Egli I'm thinking about. Twisty knows if he ever emerges, it was a conversation with him about the twin Vincent and I don't recall what he said except it wasn't a Shadow.
The Kerikeri show Comet, or was it a meteor I'm now asking myself..that was someone else in the general area... practically overrun with the Vincents.
I met a guy in Wroclaw who made this. Kwak 500 mit turbo. Intended to rust, all working lines left as is, even the sharpie.
This is unfinished, mid-build.
..and that's a 200 year old lamp.

Dzwei cool. What do the cutouts in the rear wheel sprocket spell out?
Speak softly and carry a mouthful of marbles.
Was the custom rear wheel of a VRod so he told me.
It's the name of his dream company.
