So... Does Santa come up your chimneys,? Oh, oh, oh, merrrrry Christmas?

Prolly the first time I considered your Christmas in summer down under, was watching the TV mini-series based on the epic novel The Thornbirds. There was a great scene where one of the protagonists, steaming hot, dripping sweat, hauled a special, massive yule log into the parlor and with fortitude lit the yule fire.

No fires where we are at 11.51 on Christmas Eve. But in a couple of days we get 3 well over the ton. Our turn had to come sometime. A few K's away a house burnt down tonight. Not bushfire related, an awful thing on Xmas eve, but I spare more than a thought for the people still on the bush fire line, with no end to it in sight. And those who have lost a life work and savings
