    Lightbulb Merry christmas

Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ.

It is observed on December 25 as a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the world.
Celebrations include church services, gift-giving, family
and other social gatherings, symbolic decoration, feasting and drinking etc.

Whether you believe or do not believe in God or believe in another deity, may you all reach out family members that you have and enjoy having them. They, and you, don't know what the future holds.

Remember too, that there are people worse off and better off than you, not just at this time of year but year round.

Very sorry for those that have suffered hardship and losses this year, but do wish you all (Humbugs, Scrooges, Grinches, those who ignore list I am on, etc included) the very best over the Christmas season and the coming year.

May you find happiness in everything you do
and may it also bring happiness to those around you.

It's a bit early, but I concur with Rum's thoughts.

The winter solstice is the shortest day of the year, and it has been observed since neolithic times if not earlier. It marks the onset of the deepest part of winter, but also the onset of lengthening days, heralding the eventual return of the sun, warmth, and life. For millennia the winter solstice has been celebrated with many festivals and holy days, including the "Saturna" noted in ancient Hebrew sources, the Germanic peoples' Yule, and the Romans' Saturnalia, the latter two of which were co-opted by early Christians. The solstice is commonly celebrated in much the same way as Christians celebrate Christmas; my circle of friends has observed it with an overnight party featuring food, drink, and music. Happy solstice!

So when do you consider that it would be an appropriate date and time to wish all a 'Merry Christmas' and good will ?

Have you written an appropriate letter to all the shops/stores, and the like, a "Disgusted Tunbridge Wells" letter.

Yes, I've asked them all to stop playing "Christmas" songs by Slade, Roy Wood's Wizard, Wham and Madonna
