I used to have Brunswick Stew when I lived in Williamsburg. Good stuff! It was probably the only time I ate and didn't object to okra.

I dismembered a chicken last night then threw the rest of the carcass in my crockpot. This morning, I picked the remaining meat off the bones and added a few bits of pork. Letting the liquid reduce now and will add tomato sauce, corn, peas, okra and such to the mixture later.

I need that entire set up and then my in-house chef (my awesome cook of a wife) needs to make it for us. I also need to hang with your pups. Why are dogs so great?
In the US this perverted idea of “blood and soil” over “constitutional principles” is the most radical and anti-democratic and anti-Conservative idea I have heard in my lifetime.

McMike, I am not a 'dog professional' , but I think it has something to do with them being great listeners (run any idea you like past them, they will listen attentively) , and being able to give out unconditional love - we have been fortunate to having been adopted by many wonderful dogs.

I have the same fortune. My grey guy is literally the purest soul I have ever meet. My Red one is the most expressive and funny and loves us so much. I got upset today with a renovation task I was doing, like the air was purple, my red guy came right over to check on me, tail low, ears back, wanting to console but was afraid because he knew I was angry. Hard to stay mad when you've got your bud standing there wanting nothing more than to make you feel better. I'm not worthy . . .

When Skip started this thread with no mention of wire chicken (what we had to call it for my three year old niece to eat it) that was 1989. I won't make a Brunswick Stew without wire chicken. Wire chicken, cause they run on the power lines.
