I came back to this thread to post the Time cover, but saw I'd been beaten to it.

In answer to your question - every Republican in Congress seems to think that any renewable energy project is bad & only oil/coal/nuclear is good. If people would get off their behinds & support green tech, this country could again be a world leader - but politicians & many of their supporters are too chicken$#*@ to go against the entrenched energy companies.

Trump maligned her today on twitter! He's pissed off that Time didn't give him "Monkey of the Year". Greta got the honor!

Greta got the honor that she deserved. My post was a bit awkwardly written and Monkey of the Year refers to Trump.

In case if anyone missed the the narcissistic cretins tweet>>"Greta must work on her Anger Management problem, then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend! Chill Greta, Chill!" he tweeted. Sorry, I left out highly demeaning.

Awesome to see she still has the power to piss off old men. Time did well in their choice this year. I hope the movement she has started keeps the momentum and translates into votes from the younger generations in the days and years to come.

Thunberg wasted little time in offering a rejoinder to Trump. Shortly after his tweet, she had updated her Twitter profile to read: “A teenager working on her anger management problem. Currently chilling and watching a good old fashioned movie with a friend.”

I get the impression trump gained nothing in his bullying of this girl. She's more level-headed than he is, and owns him.
There's a lot of things they didn't tell me when I signed on with this outfit....

At 16 YO she must realize she is under the skin of the POTUS. This alone makes her powerful, and he pours fuel on the fire in his ignorance.

She can just sit back and watch him self destruct. Kinda fun to watch!

Why does Trump get to go after other people's children when his own kid (Barron) is absolutely off limits?

I'm old enough to remember when John Kennedy was the president, and Carolyn and John got heaps of press coverage.

Does he keep the kid in a padded room with rubber sheets?

That letter is clearly just a chance for this guy to insult Ms. Thunberg. He just rolls from personal insult to personal insult.

Being reduced to drinking animal feces infested water! WTF is he talking about. It's an infantile rant. Complete nonsense.

Interesting take on the Aspergers thing is that many of the tech pioneers working in Silicon Valley were on the spectrum, partnered, and their children inherited a double dose if you will. Short cut evolution it is called, but I thought of the Nazi efforts to breed 'superior' members of the master race, Eugenics, and how those with the talents needed seem now to be self-selecting to an extent.
