Default Wetting gaff schooner RYD 16.10 "Discrete ST"

I have been building Paul Riccelli's (modified) design RYD 16.10, "Discrete ST" for ten years and today she was dipped for the first time! Not finished yet but I wanted to see how she floats before the lake freezes. The "official" launch will be May 15th next year.

As you can see from the pics, most people have already or are hauling out their boats for the winter while I am launching

I was born on a wooden boat that I built myself.

Yes, very traditional shape but modern glued lapstrake construction. The profile is in my avatar.

She’s stunning! Didn’t hear a petroleum power auxiliary, electric or well silenced?

Just loverly! Congratulations on finishing (almost) your wonderful boat. May you spend as many happy hours sailing her as building.

Electric. There is also a "range extender": a not so well silenced air cooled one cylinder plus a 24V 60A alternator to charge the batteries if solar is not enough and land power not available.

    A good looking hull.
Are the masts in their final trim? It looks like the fore is raked about the same or even stronger than the main, which though not in itself wrong, disagrees with convention and looks off.

The masts were hung there with temporary ropes just for the photos. I have no idea of the actual rake of either one at the moment, that will be addressed once I start rigging her in earnest.

Tomorrow I will haul her out and continue finalizing things in the workshop. It has been most inspiring six days
