...Don't whine at the Admin. He hates that.
    Jus' sayin'.
It really is quite difficult to build an ugly wooden boat.

Perhaps it's a denial of service attack, it happens. Hackers do it all the time by overwhelming the server.

Seems to be somewhat periodic, although some sites seem to always kick me back.

I have wondered if the good phone line is down and the phone on a tree is the only connection with the rest of the world.

Another thing we engineered and have made so complicated we can't manage it any more.

Maybe, from time to time, he needs some time off from watching some of the “kids” play rough here.

Sure appears like "throttling" here. For weeks I've been able to read anything I desired on the WBF, however, in order to post anything I must log in, again and again, and again, and again. I had a tech look at my computer and after a good while he straightened it out, until a few minutes after he left. Then there is the cumbersome photo posting procedure. I have a vast file of decent boating pics, none of which will ever appear here.

Ditto, this is a combative political forum at times, and if there is a suspect it's likely someone who got pushed for his overstated political views and is not happy. donald's gang are likely well aware of it, and it's slant and rather suspect it's more organised than just one dumped participant.
OTOH it may be just technical and hard to fix.

On some other sites I'm on, they have switched away from vbulletin because of the hack attacks.

Good one!! Anyone who doesn't know the 'phone on a tree' story is hereby directed to find out before being allowed to post again. A classic WoodenBoat legend.
I was born on a wooden boat that I built myself.

Maybe some of the compulsive posters (more than one thread each day) ought to back off a bit.

It's low steam presure! Scot needs an Assistant Fireman to help him shovel the coal.
