Seriously, McMike, I don’t know how many prisoners in that jail are able to hang themselves. The report says his injuries appear to be self-inflicted. I’m not a doctor so I’m not sure how distinguishing marks are from someone trying to hang themselves versus someone garroted or strangled.

But it seems to me the guy had every reason to off himself, and hundreds of people wished him dead. I’d be surprised if there weren't surveillance cameras to help sort it out. My guess is that extraordinary caution was not taken because enough people wanted to see him die, and nature conveniently took its course.

A lot of these sort of people got where they did by taking the "easy way" rather than doing the right things in life. To have a scumball like him off himself isn't unusual... it's the easy way out, rather than facing up to what he did.

There is too many very powerful lives at stake to not consider a less simple explanation. We've seen, in broad daylight, the manipulation of the legal system in the form of Barr for Trump. That kind of injustice in broad daylight has more than shown me that the powerful live far out of reach of laws. They operate without fear of real prosecution. I wholeheartedly admit to my hard idealism most of my life. I always knew there were evil people, and I even knew that many never end up paying for their crimes, but I never imagined the magnitude at which this occurred.

Could just as easily be a single individual acting out of loyalty.

This thing really smells. My wife is a high powered psychologist and over 40+ years has seen many, many really bad things and heard about many. In her experience she says that the odds for narcissistic personality types killing themselves is VERY low. There are just way too many rich and powerful who, on hearing today's news about Epstein, are very, very relieved. JC

Suicide watch: Here's a case where respecting prisoner's rights may have resulted in less protection for the prisoner's life. For example, full-on, surveillance 100-percent of the time might be said to deprive the prisoner of privacy. And stripping a prisoner of clothing and offering no sheet or blanket ( so they can't hang themselves) might be considered cruel and unusual.Our rights sometimes butt up against what needs to be done.

I remember that, I can't find the thread and what my response was.

Being denied bail may have been an issue in his thinking if he did indeed commit suicide.

But yeah, given the evidence that he would have against the rich and powerful, this stinks. Just yesterday I thought, there was a story about a woman alleging she was slaved out by Epstein to Bill Richardson and Bill Mitchell, her story had some sketchiness to it but on the other hand you would not expect a young girl to remember all details from years ago. If true, high-up people.

There better be video and review, at least of access to his cell. He could also have been encouraged to commit suicide.

With him dead, it solves so much for a lot of potential accused, I'm sure he didn't keep a written record of things.
