Default Thru-hulls, hoses through decks and bulkheads

I have to run a bunch of hoses through the deck and bulkheads for fuel, fuel filter, waste, waste filter, etc. Must or should I always use a thru-hull with hose fittings and hose clamps? Are there any other durable options out there?
    Thanks in advance...

No. Each system has hose, fittings, etc. appropriate to its use: gasoline, propane, waste, etc. Each has a standard protocol as to how they should be installed. To deviate would invite disaster in some cases all the way to mild disappointment in others.
