Default Morning row: Calories gained or lost?

I'm finally getting time to enjoy my new Drake rowboat a bit (launch thread here:http://forum.woodenboat.com/showthre...t=#post5919755 ) and rowed to and from the Smiling Pelican in Maiden Rock this AM. My biking app says 2.7 miles each way and 4 mph rowing at an easy pace.
Do you think I gained or lost in the calorie balance?

Heading home with the prize! My biking app says 4 calories burned!? The compass helped on the way over with fog obscuring both shores at times.

I’m going to say lost in calories but hugely gained in enjoyment of life so it’s all to the good. Beautiful boat, beautiful day, beautiful water and a pastry at the end of it. Can’t beat that.

That piece of watermelon offset the quiche, I believe - therefore, no caloric gain - no, I am not medically trained - great photo of the boat !

Probably some weight lost. Aerobic exercise tends to raise the basal metabolic rate for some time after the exercise. During that time you burn more calories than usual. Our bodies also seem to adjust our metabolisms depending of the amount of food eaten. So, sometimes, a reduction in intake doesn't result in weight loss.
    Good luck
