Naaahhh... a long memory would show that I've used that same 'You GO...' title for a variety of locales.

It may be true that Mississippi, or Alabama, or Texas, or the South in general, has more than its share of dum bassery, and therefore elicits more notices.

And, of course one can't condemn every individual in a state for ONE dumbass. Or even if the entire state govt. is FILLED with dumbasses.

BUT... calling out instances the when they occur is worthwhile, I reckon. Sort of along the lines of a favorite sports columnist who was criticized by school officials for pointing out the flaws of our Oregon Ducks football team. He said: if you don't want the criticism... and it was fair, true, and accurate criticism... do better. It's that simple. You're not suggesting this is unfair, false, or inaccurate criticism, are you?

I raised a ruckus about Malheur locally. State officials. Local officials. My congressman and senator. I would hope that pointing out instances of dum bassery would inspire y'all to do the same in your locales. And, Jimmy, you forgot to mention that they were armed Out Of State militants. Few locals. And even the locals who were ideologically sympathetic mostly didn't support their actions. Imported dum bassery. Though we certainly have our share... we mostly are able to keep them corralled.

So, IF the situation was truly one of a man and woman alone together being an issue, well, it is. True, it’s only an issue because SO many people have taken advantage of similar situations, but it’s real.

And, it applies to adult athletes as well. D1 ladies are just the same as 12 year olds. Applies to lady coaches, officials, team assistants, fans, parents...

For example, there is a lady coach in our organization who I really like to talk to. She has a great perspective on the game I’m coaching mostly, now, and helps me a lot. In exchange, I inform her of training and nutrition information and speed work drills, and etc.

But, we can’t ever just hang out together unless someone else is there. There are prohibitions against us having any private conference out of eyesight of other people.

No such prohibitions for male/male or female/female conferences. That is, another male coach and I can get into a barrel together, and go over Niagara Falls while kissing, and it would be okay.

I can’t step behind a building to have a one-on-one conversation with a female coach or parent, though.
