Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.

The title of this thread is basically what Queen Victoria wrote in her diary the day after her wedding night. Complete with exclamation point!

She didn’t say, “What a Knight!”?

Which one? We were sailing on Howard’s Bolger Chebacco. Note the first place WoodenBoat Show plaque in the companionway. We sailed from the harbor in Benjamin River over to Deer Isle then towards the bridge a bit then back. We had some great sandwiches from the General Store and some nice craft beer.

It’s a working vacation for me. Carpentry by day, Maine touristing by evening. Tonight was pretty special, too. We went to Tinder Hearth Bakery in Brooksville. Aside from their wonderful bread and amazing! pastries they make fabulous pizza in their gigantic wood fired oven. And serve great craft beer. And serve it in their beautiful garden. To top it all we had some homemade organic ice cream served in handmade cones. The girl serving the ice cream had made the cones this afternoon. We had high expectations having had their pastries last fall when we built the foundation, but our expectations were blown away by the reality. Than that was topped by sunset at Caterpiller Hill looking out over Penobscot Bay and Eggemoggan Reach.
