The shoes are installed and I'm putting the coat of epoxy and graphite on the bottom.

Then I figure out how to flip the thing!

You're making good progress! In this time of social distancing it's hard to invite a bunch of friends over to help flip a boat.

You have to buff that epoxy for a smoother finish, I figure it will add a couple knots to her top speed.
I've got two chain hoists and the excitement of flipping will come soon!

Cat is epoxied to the hull. That can't be good for performance.

It's just her head. I think she will help break the chop since the hull is flat.

I thought this was a powerboat, not a catboat.

These puns took a catastrophic turn for the worse. Im hoping we can see this thing with a purring motor on the back soon. We can get back to our regularly scheduled updates anytime meow.

Meow. I'm able to lift the hull with my hoist so I'm waiting for the extra people to help control the roll. I've got hay bales to cushion it during what should be a controlled fall.Besides epoxy and/or paint, what are other suggestions to protect the wood inside the hull? It's epoxy and fiberglass on the outside. Thanks

For the boat flip, re-epoxy cat(s) to bottom shoe(s). They always land on their feet after a fall.

It's right side up now. Flipping a boat can be exciting. I've flipped them on land and sea. This flip didn't require a life jacket and no cats were harmed.

Looking good. Are you going to build per plan or add the "second" floor for a smooth bottom on the inside?

    Thanks,

I'm going with the plans, but I may add some floorboards that are easily removed.

Good work on flopping the boat. Cute kitty.

All the frames are installed. Now to start on the rails along the topsides.

    I had plenty of help.

There are two kinds of boaters: those who have run aground, and those who lie about it.

I've got it framed and the sheer clamps installed. I'm going to block the gunwales because I think they look neat.

Looking good Texas! I like the blocked gunwhales, gives you lots of places to tie stuff.

It's been a while, but the paint is ordered. Now to sand, paint and figure out what to do for an outboard and trailer.
