Don't think Healey Saloons were raced in period.
    Looks silly. Whodunnit?

Put it back to standard- it will look better, and be worth more.

Found the pic while reading my first Inspector Linley mystery. He drives a copper coloured Healey Elliott.

Good question! Saloon racing would be an American thing wouldn't it?

Here in Oz we call them "sedans" but that brings mental picture of a box with a hefty fellow on each corner.

Drag racing? Hairy legged blokes dressed as ladies running fast?

I used to hill climb a much modified Hillman Imp with a Cooper Climax engine. Mechanical engineer friend had a Triumph Herald with a Cosworth in it. But the only thing Triumph about it was the body shell on a tube chassis.

Dad built and raced cars quite successfully, mum raced a '34 blown MG P type.

But dad wasn't well after the war and left, mum sold the 'G I expect and I got interested in boats.

I agree Chris, been way too long. I was coming across to Goolwa this year but stuff got in the way, like a bushfire next door.
