Default 2019 Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival

September 6-8, 2019. In everyone's favorite town, Port Townsend Washington.

We usually have a WoodenBoat Forum Elbow Bending Session at the Bar at the Point, aka the Wee Nip at the Point, Saturday evening. Starting time around 6pm, going until whenever.

I should be there the whole festival this year, staying on my Navigator, Inconceivable. Come say Hi!

    Festival details here:

    Register your boat here:

And if you are planning on staying there overnight, or at one of the RV campgrounds, make your reservations now!

I rarely miss a Wooden Boat Festival, but I am within driving distance.

I am in need of 1 or 2 crew to get to this and other events. I'm exibiting at the WBF, so crew can stay aboard at Point Hudson. See the thread and more details here.

    Its only 5 weeks away!

I'm still planning on being there in Inconceivable, although it'll be as a work in progress.

Ben, we are all a work in progress.

I'll be there, probably on Friday. Solo this year... Emily Ruth decided to sit this year out.

Think pleasant weather. Not too hot, not too chilly, no rain. And certainly not a blasting wind that keeps the fleet in the harbor at Sail By time!

You can camp at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds without booking. Just drive in, put your money in an envelope in the box, and set yourself up. We've stayed there several times. We won't be there this time, though. Too busy finishing Kotik, Kotik. I'll be thinking of you.

Sadly, my navigator will be adequately completed to be able to attend the festival.

So instead I'll be bringing Winey, the families hundred year old San Francisco Whitehall instead.

    Please say hi!

The Coots do breakfast Sat. morning. The WBF does an EBS Sat. evening. You're invited to both. I'll even bring your shop apron!

bubbles is a figment of your imagination. Never seen Scot at the WBF booth.

What color do you prefer for your apron... mossy green heather, a lovely puce, or camo??

I’ll be missing the festival this year. Heading the opposite direction that weekend. But post pics for all of us that can’t make it.

Dunno yet, but it's typically more like brunch. I'll keep you posted.

Hmmmmm... gonna have to check the rules, though. Are barristers allowed? I'll check <G>

Seriously... you're attending? Be good to see ya! Bringing a boat?

    Rules? Since when? <G>

We'll be in Coupeville from Thursday through Tuesday morning for a cousins family reunion. Seriously, the plan is to attend the WBS on Friday and possibly Saturday - maybe early enough for breakfast/brunch. Depends on what the next two generations want to do on Saturday...

No boat this year, maybe next time...

Be good to see you, too!

Bob -- rules? You're right of course. No Rules, No Fees, No Doorprizes <G>

I was simply softening you up for the request to send me the entrance fee

Wait, what? If there are "No Fees," why would I send you an entrance fee?

Let me know about the Saturday brunch, and a way to track you down on Friday.

Anne and I are going to make a try to make it to the Festival. I am buried in a boat project in California that is taking precedent for my time.

The Coots' brunch/lunch will take place Saturday at 11:00 in the back room of the Shanghai Chinese Restaurant, on the Point at Point Hudson, next to the restaurant formerly known as Otter Crossing (Pt. Hudson Cafe?). Anyone with similar proclivities is welcome to join us. Chinese food isn't very brunchy, but the Shanghai has a big back room where they can make a big, long table for us. I think the food is good, and they treat us well.

Whadya mean "fake"? And you forgot the gray beard... Last time I manned the small boat organization booth (guess there won't be one this year) lotsa people came up asking something like, "I'm looking for a fellow I met online, he said he'd be wearing a baseball cap and has a gray beard."

Nobody ought to wear a Greek fisherman's hat unless they meet two conditions: 1. He is a Greek; 2. He is a Fisherman (Roy Blount Jr.)

True John, but we are referring to a subset of people with no discernable fashion sense.

Is there anyone arriving by boat on Thursday who might be willing to swing by Keystone on their way to PT and give my Whitehall and I a tow across the inlet? I'd like to avoid a nearly $60 ferry fare (each way), but the idea of trying to row the 5 mile crossing around slack tide with unknown amounts of heavy traffic gives me more than a little reason to look for a ride. If you are willing, I'll row out and meet up with you, so no docking acrobatics are needed in the tight confines of Keystone.

I am sorry to say that we will miss this show as there is too much work moving a family member into a new house at this time plus work on a boat design for a client that is taking more time than expected.

Sorry group as we were really looking forward to seeing you at the Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival! Please say hello to
    Lin Pardey for us!
