Otters are so cute and sociable.

They play on a little hill in Woods Hole when we have a little snow.
A society predicated on the assumption that everyone in it should want to get rich is not well situated to become either ethical or imaginative.

I have had a few in remote places pop up beside the canoe to take a gander at what is going on.

There's a gang of 'em at my friend's place. If things quiet down long enough... and you don't move much (just sit there sipping a beer, say) they'll come out and splash around. Or slither down some mud-slides they've created. All the while romping, tussling, and chirping. They are a helium-balloon for the spirits.

My other favorites, while on on the river are osprey, bald eagles, and blue herons.
