I wonder how much money I've shaved off my 'expense' ledger over the years... by mostly allowing my beard to simply grow...

Is Gillette not still owned by big time trump supporter Robert Kraft?
I did dollarshaveclub for a while and liked it.
Wifey Dear decided that she preferred the end-product when "normal" razors were used, and I decided that this was not a claim worth disputing.

Old scruffy electric for the bits that aren't bearded. No, it doesn't do a very good job. I don't care.

Ok so I’ve been shaving since I was 13 ( leg shaving bike racer) with a BIC disposable also known as a blood bath
About 25 years ago I started shaving my head, and was using a Gillette Mach II or III I forget which came out first. I used them exclusively for 23 years. They gave a perfect shave every time, but damn $$$$. Also every time I went to buy them I had to find a store clerk with the key and choke on the price. I justified the price with the fact that I no longer had to buy shampoo or haircuts.
About 2 years ago I gave Dollar Shave Club a try it was great they had a subscription model it was simple and easy. I used them for 6 months, but the problem was they were about 70% the smooth save I was used to from Gillette, so I stopped. Then I tried Harry’s BOOM I found my razor. It’s a tiny bit more $ that DSC but WAY below Gillette.
Now I hear Gillette is in the subscription model, and I hear talks that they are looking to acquire Harry’s

I only shave around the edges of the beard where not much grows anyhow. But I keep the beard trimmed.
I went back to an old fashioned safety razor years back, tired of paying too much for fancy blades.

I actually paid to have my beard trimmed a couple of weeks ago. About a quarter of an inch just to get rid of split ends. First time in six years. I asked the woman who trimmed it for me how much and she five dollars. I said you've got to be kidding and gave her twenty. Haven't had my hair trimmed for at least fifteen years- and it's probably close to a foot shorter than it was then- and a lot thinnerAs far as hair styles go, this is the look I'm after- https://www.google.com.au/imgres?img..._B0wIHoECAMQBg JayInOz
“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.”― Mark Twain,
When I started to shave, it was with a straight razor. I joined the swim team my first year in college. We had a fetish about shaving all body hair. I mean all. Still with the straight razor, which my team mates considered insane courage on my part. But after that year I dropped from the team and began growing my hair long and a beard. The straight razor was relegated to six strokes once a week. Then it disappeared and I moved on to a beard clipper.
For the swimmers and racing cyclists among you why not use something like Nair or use an epilator ()

It helps to be like Jacob. Genesis 27:11.
Every team I was on had a masseur, but it also helped with applying liniments and self massage. I will admit it did help me feel as though I was part of a history routed in european cycling. Also when your legs are tan, muscular and vascular they do look pretty hot when they are shaved![]()

The razors is remarkably sharp and it doesn't hurt my skin at all. No razor bumps at all

so if i owned a bot that went around the interwebs bumping old threads to post some crap about a crap mail order razor. . .
how much money could i make?
Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.
In the past 20 years it has been beard or trimmed close with hair clipper. Same for on top.
Before that it was a safety razor and mug soap and brush, I enjoyed the ritual, and cheap blades, soap, and brush. Easy to clean, unlike multiblades that constantly clog. I'm sorry I passed on a blade sharpener I saw at a flea market, a circular disc strop with a crank on the back and it periodically flipped the blade over automatically.
When you can take the pebble from my hand, it will be time for you to leave.
Best as I can recall, my last shave was in March or April of '78. Never really saw the point in it. Since then, scissors every month or two when it gets to looking ragged.
My last professional haircut was probably a few months before that. Since then my wife has done a good job of trimming it during the intervals when it wasn't half way down my back.

We’ve been doing the Kroger curbside pickup for the past few months. Last week we ordered a set of Gillette blades for me.
While we were unpacking the groceries, SWMBO pulled the blades out of the bag, and you guessed it... They were still in the anti-theft case.
Me: “No problem, dear. I’ve got the key for that out in the shop.”
Her: “Is it the same key I used to disable the Carbon Monoxide detector?”
Me: “That would be it.”
does this 'key' bear any resemblance to an estwing?

Why yes, it’s a hickory handled framing key.
According to SWMBO, she had to unlock the CO detector three times before it finally shut up.
