    Gotta have some percussive bass pitches reinforcing the harpsichord and gamba. Otherwise the entire texture is all midtones.

    Wow. Thanks. As an amateur classical guitar player I have long been aware of the theorbo, but never seen such a wonderful demonstration of it.

    There is a baroque music series put on here which we enjoy, and there have been a couple of lute players with some fantastic looking instruments; one guy had one very similar. The workmanship, of course, was superb.

    The workmanship is terrifying when you consider the stresses from 6 courses of strings and 14 ones beyond that.

    But then consider a harpsichord with 3 strings per pitch and two keyboards and no metal frame.

    I think I would need higher ceilings.
