    Default #12 Parachute Emerger

Tie #5. (#4 was a third Elk Hair Caddis with copper segmenting... Not worth posting.)

Parachute emerger. Finally got to wrap something larger than a #16! (Whew)

Shucks are definitely easier to tie than typical tails. Big hands... They aren't made for this.

Other than that, the prismatic dun around the thorax looks better in reality than on my phone.

Reading up on Emergers, I think there's been several times that I should have tied one on in the past.

Nice I think making the head darker than the body really works.

The more I read/watch about it, the more it seems that I fish dries because I just like to watch them float.

    Thanks.

That prismatic dubbing is pain. Going to try wax this week. Does it affect the floatation at all?

I don't think so you don't use that much, plus a conventional fly doesn't really float it rides high due to it being suspended by tension with the waters suface, foam ants Hopper and things like humpys excepted. You can also by prewaxed thread but I don't bother.
