Yes, I know Down The Creek in three dimensions, we live about forty miles from each other. She is not a great enthusiast for social media.

the lady in question was very generous and sent me a couple of books recently which I have enjoyed immensely.

some of us just have long vacations from this forum simply because our lives are otherwise full of normal pursuits and we dont need to live through social media to reach fulfilment.

I do hope all is well with her though.

That's right! Sometimes I have vacations that last days!

Also wishing Ms DTC well and looking forward to the return!

Well - I'll bet that this thread is a great example of why she may not be visiting as much. I could care less about the issues certain snowflakes are having, but I would like to know that DTC is OK.

The rest of you, please take your puerile detritus elsewhere.

Good to hear she's alright - while her contributions/stories are always enjoyable, I especially like when she dismisses our resident 5 yr old (me, me, me, me, me, me, it's all about Me!) (-:

And Hi Bernadette, hope your summer's going well. So, you go and get hitched and Poof, Gone! 0-: Shame, this forum needs not only you and DTC, but more of the likes of you and DTC. Ah, well, glad your life is full - and I'll trust enjoyably so!

Well, like I said, I can't recall ever saying an unkind or insulting word to her, yet was subjected to an unending stream of nasty bile. If that's your legacy here, people that bear the brunt of it will no doubt mention it when somebody does a tribute thread.

That's just the way of things here. If people don't like it, well, that's just too bad. She tangled with others, as well.

Still, for all the "I miss yous," the thread is incredibly light on any substantive reasons why.

What was the nature of her contributions that have so captured people?

BROTM is a heavy crown to bear. Maybe she just needs a little recuperation.

Hope to see her back soon.

Well, as noted, I like to think that she bailed because she is too good of a person to continue carrying on like she did with some people here.

Perhaps she realized it wasn't serving her. ACB indicated that he's aware she doesn't care for social media. I hope that's the reason, and as I say, I hope she's well.

i respect and miss her experience based knowledge of boats and sailing, especially with regards to uk work and pleasure sail

that her mere existence sends a burr up some peoples' asses is plus
Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.
