Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.

Nearing the end of the summer season here. A few boats are still in, and it's getting chilly.

Yep - Mid-September to Mid-October has always been a favorite time to sail the coast. Whole lot less busy!

Looks like a glorious day in Brooklin!

Sad to see no run, float or moorings out at the waterfront. Maybe all that would usually have been undertaken during the WB School's Alumni Work Week. I was looking forward to the passage to Eggemoggin Reach, starting a class and living aboard our boat a week from today. Sigh.... : https://www.woodenboat.com/webcam

Yes, calling off all courses this season in Brooklin is sad indeed. And normally, it would have been in a week or two ago. But, the float should be going in this week. And, Jon just turned the camera a bit so when the dock IS in, you'll have a birds-eye view. Well, boathouse eye view.

That makes me sad, indeed - the place should be a hive of activity.

Could have been our local pier yesterday morning……… Visibility about 50ft in a wet sea fog.

Is the yacht on the mooring Matt Murphy's?

We're seeing a bit of activity... there's a reason for that.

The reason? other than it being beautiful weather?

Our waterfront has been empty... but these boats are in for the ERR tomorrow. There are no shore-side facilities / events, and will likely have fewer boats this year.

I'm glad it's happening. I thought maybe it'd been cancelled. Thanks.

Nice to see this webcam, even with this diminished activity. I was there, in 1977 or so, right after Woodenboat bought the property and there was no dock...just a big building and an idea. We had some wild conversations about moving to Brooklin with the good folk there...and after that came further chats with my good bride!
But I did feel at home there in Maine...but the Pacific NW is Home, even though classic small craft remains an uphill struggle here in finding paying customers.
The ongoing activity in Brooklin keeps a wee flame burning bright!

I just drove past your street last night, Jake. I was wondering if you’d be visiting.

I wish, haven't been home for two years now...
There is a mob there now though, stop in and say hi to the old man and my sister, they are friendly!
(next year assuming there is a vaccine among other things we will drive and spend the summer)

Now that is some great news! I’ve driven right by twice every other week all summer and fall. Monday morning and Friday afternoon.
